What is The BEAST?

The BEAST is NYC’s only jet-powered speedboat adventure, taking you on a thrilling 30-minute ride to the Statue of Liberty and back at speeds of up to 45 mph. Expect sharp twists, fast turns, and plenty of splashes!

Where does The BEAST depart from?

The BEAST departs from Pier 83, located at West 42nd Street & 12th Avenue, New York, NY 10036.

What time does The BEAST operate?

The BEAST runs seasonally from May through October, with multiple departures daily. Check our website for the latest schedule.

Tickets & Reservations

How much are tickets for The BEAST?

Yes! Children 12 and under receive a discounted ticket. You can purchase your tickets at checkout here.

Can I buy tickets in advance?

Yes! We highly recommend booking online in advance, as The BEAST often sells out, especially on weekends and holidays. Tickets can also be purchased at the Pier 83 box office on the day of the ride (subject to availability).

Are group rates available?

Yes! For groups of 15 or more, please fill out the form on our Groups Page to receive special pricing.

Is my ticket refundable or exchangeable?

Tickets are non-refundable but may be exchanged within 30 days of the original cruise date, subject to availability.

Weather-related cancellations will be rebooked or refunded. Please contact GuestServices@support.nycl.com for assistance.

Weather & Cancellations

What happens if it rains?

🚨 The BEAST does not operate in the rain.

If rain is in the forecast or weather conditions are unsafe, we may cancel or delay departures. If your trip is canceled due to weather, you can reschedule for another date or request a refund.

Can I change my reservation if I can’t make it?

Yes! You may exchange your ticket for another date (subject to availability), but we do not offer refunds unless the ride is canceled by us.

Safety & Restrictions

Is The BEAST safe?

Yes! The BEAST is operated by U.S. Coast Guard-certified captains and crew, and all necessary safety precautions are taken.

Is there an age or height requirement?

Yes, all riders must be at least 40 inches (3’4”) tall to board.
There is no age requirement, but children 12 and under qualify for child tickets.

Can I ride if I’m pregnant?

No. The BEAST is not suitable for pregnant guests due to fast speeds, sudden turns, and bumps.

Can I ride if I have back or neck problems?

No. If you have any pre-existing neck, back, or heart conditions, we strongly advise against riding due to the high-speed thrills, jolts, and bumps.

Do I have to wear a life jacket?

No, but all passengers must buckle in with a seatbelt. Life jackets are available onboard for every guest.

Can children sit on a parent’s lap during the ride?

No. All guests must be seated on their own during the trip—lap sitting is not permitted.

Onboard Experience

Will I get wet?

Yes! Expect to get splashed. Wear casual clothing and consider buying a poncho from The BEAST’ro if you’d like to stay dry.

Can I bring a bag or backpack?

Small bags are allowed but may get wet.
Large bags and luggage are NOT permitted.

Can I bring food or drinks onboard?

No outside food or beverages are allowed. However, you can check out The BEAST’ro after your trip!

Can I bring my phone or camera?

Yes, but at your own risk. The ride is fast and wet, and we are not responsible for any lost, damaged, or wet property. We recommend using waterproof pouches for valuables.

Is there seating on The BEAST?

Yes! Seating is first-come, first-served.
• For a smoother ride, sit toward the front.
• For the biggest splashes, sit in the back!

Is there storage or lockers available?

No. We do not provide storage or lockers. We are not responsible for any lost or stolen items you take onboard or leave on land.

Photo Moments?

Yes! The Captain will stop the ride for a perfect Statue of Liberty photo op. Our first mate is happy to snap a photo for you! 📸

Accessibility & Special Requests

Is The BEAST wheelchair accessible?

Unfortunately, due to the speed and seating design, The BEAST is not wheelchair accessible. All guests must be able to board unassisted.

Are service animals allowed?

No. For safety reasons, service animals are not permitted onboard.

Can I host a private event on The BEAST?

Yes! The BEAST is available for private charters and special events.
